Web Development Procedure:

Our web design and implementation process includes:

Step 1: Web Site Planner.  Upon initial contact with Design Impressions, we will send you our web site planner. Please complete this planner and return it to us. This website planner forms the foundation of your website strategy. The effort in careful planning benefits you in cost savings. It also benefits us as web designers by being able to give us an accurate assessment of your needs.

Step 2: Initial Client Consultation.  Provide a no obligation meeting with prospective clients to comprehend their needs and vision of the desired new site.  We will discuss your ideas on the appearance of the site as well as the functionality you expect it to provide.  Work on an interactive basis with clients to clearly understand their website needs, requirements and goals. Other issues such as site structure can be decided and a potential site map drawn up.

Step 3: Engagement Contract.  We provide you with a written quote.  Based on our initial meeting we offer you a web design proposal.  Receive signed contract, and deposit for work.

Step 4: Project Planning & Layout Design.  Content such as text and images is collated and the need for either modification or extra content is discussed. The content is arranged in a way that will allow users of your site to quickly find what they are looking for and allow high priority functions of your site to operate smoothly. The site map could be adjusted at this stage and ideas are suggested to improve delivery of the content.

Step 5: Web Design Mock.  A draft design (look and feel) and/or page samples are prepared for your approval.  We obtain full client approval before implementing proposed layouts and incorporating client information. 

Step 6: Web Page Development.  Any new text for the website will be collected at this (or prior to this) time.  Once final content is received, we utilize the client’s approved designs, and incorporate their graphics, images and text.  Client will be able to review the redesigned website, navigate throughout the site and assess it user-friendly before it is published online.

Step 7: Quality Assurance.  Every website we develop undergoes exhaustive testing including validation of all HTML code.

Step 8: Final Payment.  Final payment on work completed is due prior to the website being published online. 

Step 9: Web Site Publishing.  We publish new web sites on the Internet through the clients ISP/server or through our hosting partner, Hostway.com.  For information on our hosting partner, please contact Kim Hearl.

Step 10: Web Site Announcements.  Clients’ web site is submitted to the most popular search engines: including Yahoo, Google, Alta Vista, Web Crawler, Hotbot, Infoseek, Northern Light, Excite, Lycos and MSN.  Additional search engines and directories included.

Step 11: On-Going Maintenance.  We also provide a full range of maintenance services after site completion.  Please contact us for additional information on our maintenance sevices.
